Workplace health and safety in Canada isn't regulated federally. Every province and territory runs its own OHS act, its own regulator, and its own enforcement priorities.
That means there's no single national list a multi-plant operator can check itself against. What is consistent across provinces is the method: most provincial regulators have moved to risk-based inspection targeting, using injury and illness rates, incident frequency, and compliance history to decide where to focus, rather than inspecting on a fixed, predictable rotation.
For an EHS Director accountable across 100 to 500+ contractors and multiple plants (often spanning more than one province) that risk-based model means there's no list to check your specific facility against and breathe easy if you're not on it.
Selection criteria and sector priorities shift year to year and province to province, and "we weren't named this year" is not a strategy. It's a bet, and one that gets harder to win the more provinces you operate in.
